Locus Robotics is has become a leader in warehouse automation. Our solution is a ground up reimagining of warehouse robotics designed collaboratively with experts in the field. Our robots work by empowering workers rather than replacing them, and have demonstrated dramatic improvements in pick rates over the prior industry standard developed by Amazon Robotics, formerly Kiva. When I joined Locus I was the second full-time software roboticist to join the team. As such my tasks have encompassed just about everything you could imagine in
getting a start-up prototype to a production level robot.

Since much of my work is proprietary I can't go into many details, but a few things I've worked with include robot nav, computer vision, web development, database management, linux configuration, and human-robot interaction design. My work often requires me to collaborate with different members of the Locus team, practice many different skills, and write in a diverse set of programming languages. In this small team environment, I have gained a lot of experience learning and adapting new skills on the fly. The team has made many sacrifices and showed incredible dedication and merit to help our robot advance at the incredible rate that it has.
